Yoga Sol understands that Yoga is more than posture practice. Our public classes provide the opportunity to grow more awareness of ourselves and our community. Learning how to breath, move, focus, and release are important tools needed to be of conscious service to ourselves, our families, and our communities. At Yoga Sol, we feel it is important to take these practices into the larger community. If you have a group or organization that could benefit from the practices of Yoga, send us a note. We are always looking for more ways to give back to our community!
Chair Yoga at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital
Yoga Sol is thrilled to have partnered with the VA to bring a regular weekly yoga class to veterans here in Columbia. The class is one hour long and teaches posture and breath work that aids vets in their physical and mental health.
Yoga at the Juvenile Justice CenterWe began offering yoga and meditation at the JJC in 2015 as a part of summer camp. We went on to offer class twice a week to Youth in the facility. The practices were well received and have become a part of the Youth’s daily practices. We created a simple posture sequence and breath practice that takes just around 15 minutes to complete. Youth can do these series twice a day as part of their incentive program, affording them visits with family in addition to the benefits of the practices themselves.
